OVer op GroenGas.

Visual Designer / Development

Overview

Commissioned by CNG Net, I developed a website for clients and suppliers active in the procurement of public transport concessions in the Netherlands. This initiative attempts CNG Net to provide clarity into the complex matter of these contracts and clients and carriers about the role of green gas as a renewable, clean and affordable fuel can mean for public transport.

Since the website contains a lot of information and more information to come in the future I build the page based on the blogging platform Wordpress so they are able to add content easily. Provide information is the key function of the website, so design for readability was most important. Thats why I choose for a light grey background, with white fields. The dark font was used to create the contrast which leads to an optimal reading experience.

Designing a website with so much content was quite a challenge. What I learned from it is to put the content first. It’s easy to make fancy looking stuff, but a minimal approach helps you much further. So after the first round of design I went thru it and got rid of a lot of elements which were only for decoration and distracting from what it all was about; content.

In the end the hardest task for me this project was the development itself. I needed to twist and turn Wordpress in all kind of positions to match the design which was signed off to. Probably next time I’ll look for an already existing theme before starting the design procedure to make it easier.
